What is Labiaplasty?

Labiaplasty is a procedure that can reduce a woman’s labia minora when it is elongated or exhibits an irregular shape. This condition is caused by genetics, natural aging, childbirth, pregnancy, or an injury. Labiaplasty surgically decreases the size of the labia majora and/or minora to create a symmetrical look, improve personal hygiene, and eliminate discomfort during sexual intercourse or exercise.

What to Expect with Labiaplasty?

Typically, patients can expect to heal after around one week and for the swelling to go down following their vaginal rejuvenation procedure. Dr. Campbell may suggest you apply a cold compress or ice pack over the treated area (if needed) to minimize inflammation. You should not have sexual activity or use tampons for at least 4 – 6 weeks following your procedure. Patients generally notice visible results in six weeks and final results about six months following the procedure. The outcome of your vaginal rejuvenation is usually long lasting; however, natural aging, significant weight fluctuations, and childbirth can impact your result.
